Back from the trip to Midnite's Mom's house in Crooked River.  We had a great time.  If you can get away from the beaten path next year, consider joining the tribe as they relax, eat too much and travel the inland empire in search of the cheap appetizers and great drink specials.

This trip, we had to suffer through the great steaks at the Tumalo Feedhouse, the Deschutes Brewery, Cascade Brewpub, and learn all about why the trees were planted behind the Bend Brewing Company's luscious patio.

We met a beautiful blonde from Georgia, drank some Blond Bombshell ale, took a very nice picture of the beauticious blonde hosting at the BBC, and generally blonded our way up and down highway 97.

The signup sheet is available for this trip in 2005, if you're interested in going along.

Midnite's Roving Recon patrol has posted again, in the Recons section...

Adjusted and added to the Gallery page...  I'm still trying to get the right balance and mix to how to show the grapics best.  Any suggestions?

Added a few pics to the Inductee page...

Peanut finally got her broadband hooked up so now that she is back I can start rotating the pics again.  Sometime this weekend I'll put new pictures up.  Next week's Happy Hour will be on a Friday.  Saturday nites are coming...

The  Memorial Day weekend trip is fast approaching.  A number of people are going up Saturday after work.  Hook up with them if you don't want to drive.

May 21st, 2004

Fixed the link to the map for J.B. O'Brien's.  The Happy Hour starts at 4 PM, and you know how it goes, some stragglers come wandering in around 8 O'clock, so don't think you're too late to go.  Also, as in the past, when the gang starts to dwindle down due their overwhelming desire to go home and watch TV, the rest of the group that still has enough energy and driving ability usually finds another habitat to call home for an hour or two.  So, on the off chance you don't find anyone at J.B's, call the trusty cell phone of another Tribal Member, and find out where the hell everyone has run off to.

If you like beer from Belgium, and have that added passion for the european beer fresh from the tap, or, as the Germans say, frish vom fast, you'll love the selection at J.B.'s.  Appetizers have a way of sneaking up on you with their size and quantity, so bring a friend who remembers to bring their appetite.

Midnite celebrated her 39th yesterday, so since she lives within stumbling distance of J.B's, it's a sure thing that she'll bury the drink you buy her instead of watching it melt it's glass like oh so many birthday celebrants over the years...  See you there!

Tribal Member and resident roving reporter Midnite Mover, will be celebrating her 39th birthday with a recon at a local watering hole, tonite, Thursday the 20th, with at least three glasses of riesling.  If you've never seen Midnite move, tonite's the nite.  Having slipped up in the last few days from her bout with Montezuma's Revenge (So Cal style), she plans on packing back on the six point five pounds of intestinal fortitude she lost over her recent trip and working holiday.  Who ever said roving recon reporters don't put their lives on the line too??

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIDNITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Updated The Stooge page, the Voting Booth, and should have more pics up by tomorrow.

Time is running OUT for those of you wishing to notify Midnite as to your intentions towards the Memorial Day Weekend Trip.  Only one week left!  Get in while you can, or be forced to read about here, on some web page.

The results are tabulated, and J.B Obrien's was the runaway favorite for Happy Hour this coming Friday night.  Check out this page for info.  Running a distant second place was Billygan's, Salvador Molly's and Red Lobster.  As the 2nd place was a tie, each of these choices will be added back into the vote starting Wednesday for the next Happy Hour meeting, the 4th or 5th of May.

Coming in a roaring first place as a recon item was the Rogue Brewpub in North Plains.  If someone would like to organize a nite out to North Plains, by all means, let me know and I'll post the whosits and whatsits.

As a reminder, if you are reading this page, you should also be signed up for the Yahoo Group (forum) happyhourtribe.  By signing up for this group, you have the best chance of finding out about spur of the moment recons, or house parties, or other extravaganzas that pop up on the radar.

Also, Recon is accepting fiction and poetry to be placed within our very own prose section, Vogon Poetry.  No, you don't have to be ADD to submit.  Just a little crazy.  Please grab your pens and pencils, and send in your poetry and prose, short fiction and long, so that all the rest of us can understand why Ballantine turned you down.

Spent a few minutes updating a recon, adding a few graphics, and bio-izing.  Don't forget about filling out the form for the Memorial Day retreat.  It's coming fast, and the faster you fill out the form, the faster Midnite knows who to expect.  Don't remember what that's all about?  Spent too much time in Florida??  Check out the Planned Activities page and read up!

May 12th, 2004

Roving Recon Reporter Squads are a favorite activity here at the HHC.  Uh, what the heck is a roving recon reporter squad??  Simple!  Remember that cool place you got those nifty appetizers and cheap drinks on your last vacation or trip?  It was just you and maybe your wife, or husband, or whomever, and between the two of you, you'll remember that place.  But, what about the rest of us?  Don't we deserve to live vicariously through you??  Sure we do!  That's what a Roving Recon Report is all about.

When you go on that trip whether short or long, even if it's across town, and you got something to say about the place, or places you ate and drank at, write up your feelings and submit the recon through the link at the left.  It's that simple!  Got a web site to go along with it?  Include that url in your recon, so others can follow your leading footsteps!  Be a leader!  Submit a Roving Recon Squad report now!

By the way, one of our Squads has submitted a report and it's available here!

Bio added, and some various pics...  changed some pages..

AND, added a form page for the Getaway at Mom's for Memorial Day holiday.  Please check out the form, and if you're going, enter your info.  We're testing it now, so if you want to test it, just enter test in place of your name, and submit it.

May 9th, 2004  Mom's Day

Added link to Inductees gallery, more clipart in various locations, a recon or two, some mutterings in prose.

Be sure to sign up for the trip to 'Mom's' on the Memorial Day Weekend Holiday.  Ask Midnite Mover for any info.

Take the time over the next few days to vote for your favorite upcoming Tribal Meeting site.  Time's going by fast, and since the vote will be lifted the Tuesday prior to the Meeting, you now have less time to stack the deck.

This month's first meeting was held tonite at McGrath's.  In all, it was a very productive meeting, with new blood, large turnout, and a great place all adding to the mix.  Read about it here.

We know some of you have managed to crawl off the sofa, past the remote and gotten out of the house.  If you have gone anywhere else than the front yard or work, and have sat for a drink or gobbled down a quick bite (outside of a fast food restaurant), you owe it to yourself and your club to write a 'recon report'.  Submitting regularly qualifies you for great admonition amongst your fellow members, not to mention salutations and other fun gobbledeegook.    Take hold of your future, improve your score, and either hire, or fire that place you just spent 30 bucks at!

In the "Hey, this place don't suck too bad" column, you'll find fresh recons alongside some of the meeting places...  A new vote has been posted, and a new meeting venue has been announced, all done without the help of useless chads.  And remember, set a good example for your children and vote!  Vote once, vote often!!

Archived the April doings...  Made it easier for Bamberg, er... Slim Jim, to navigate to Yahoo Groups...  :)
