Back when Midnite Mover and I were haunting Quackers, it got to be a usual thing.  She didn't want anything to do with being home alone, and I wasn't interested in watching the tube, so we both decided we liked the non smoky atmosphere and friendly regulars of Quackers.

It was by coincidence that we happened to go to Quackers during their happy hour.  Also, Midnite turned into a pumpkin at six, so we only had from cob at our work, until six to load up.  Nice that happy hour coincided with our times too.

We got to know the people who came in, and got to enjoy all the nuances of these times.  Then we did something different.  We invited someone else to come along, the Healer.  The Healer fell in love with the Shrimp fettuccini appetizer.  Then one night, we decided to go to Newport Bay instead.  "Wow!"  we said.  "Newport Bay has a happy hour TOO!!"

So there it started.  Before too long, we'd begun to check out a few of the other nearby establishments, exclusively during the happy hour.  More and more people started to show up, what with one of us mentioning the cheap drink and eat prices, and then I got to posting the happy hour menu's from various places on my case.  I'd reconnoiter some cool place, get a menu, and tape it on the case wall.

Soon enough, we were going to a different place each pay day weekend, and friends started showing up, and everyone wanted to know what was next.  Having wanted to dabble in html for a long time, I decided to create a web page devoted to our predicament, with information on each place, information about activities, and turn the affair into a loosely organized club.

So, on or about the 7th of March, 2004, we christened an early version of this web page, and the rest was history, until about the middle of 2005 when quite a few things happened.  Over this period of time, the two founding members of the Happy Hour Tribe split, found  mates, married them and moved on with their lives.

As you can imagine, this created quite a rift in our tribe.  Certain people are no longer friends, others won't hang out like they used to for their own reasons, and others, tired of the drama have moved along as well.

Because of all this, I stopped updating the site, and pondered removing it.  But after careful consideration, I've decided to keep on with the site.  However, there will be slight changes that you will notice over time.

The website will change from a club web site to either a database of Happy Hour establishments, with reviews and write-ups, or a review site, with input from anyone.  I've not made up me mind yet.  Or, I may just leave it be.

Rest assured, the web site will continue to exist, as I've decided to maintain my skills albeit slight, of publishing a web page.

I'm sorry for the stagnation of this page over time, and look forward to fresh reports and future fun times.

We still clamor for the cheapest drinks, stand in line for the cheapest appetizers, and scrutinize each bill as it comes...
