25 MARCH 2005
A good number of us showed up at JB O'Briens to enjoy the $1.95 appetizers. I splurged and got The Seamstress an appetizer plate. She'd been wanting that for quite some time and it was my turn to buy it as I'd lost a bet to her some time ago.
That appetizer comes on a cookie sheet, covered with veggies and chicken strips, shrimp, mushrooms, clam strips and a few other things. It's real filling. I had a black and tan and a couple other beers. My favorite Belgium beer, Stella Artois, is still on tap there, and Liquid Solutions now has it in the bottle. Yum. Last time I was there, I saw so many beers I wanted to buy, that I bought a six pack of Stella and got out of there quick.
It was good to see Steiner back in form. He was ill most of the month of february/march, and he was in good spirits and looking healthy as a horse. Luscious was in the mood to drink more, but turned into a pumpkin a bit too early and headed home. Rats! The next meeting is scheduled already for Gustav's. See you there!
4 MARCH 2005
Here it is March already. Sheesh... my how time flies. Oregon has had a spate of pretty good weather. Sure, we've had a little wind to go along with all those sunny days, but I've seldom seen a nicer set of weeks in February.
I don't think that the Oregon ski season every got started. Maybe they opened up for a week or two. But I'd hate to be looking at those dry grounds if I was the owner of Mt. Hood Meadows...
February saw me sell my truck, get a soccer mom car, a cat, pay off most of my bills, and get some new ones.
Not much happened on the Happy Hour front, except that we got one new member signed up on the forum. Still haven't heard from that person about who he is, but oh well. Hopefully he'll come to a meeting and we can meet and greet.
Since the interest in going out to meetings lately has dried up, voting for meeting places hasn't really been needed. So, until we get an interest in voting, I'll just ask some people where they'd like to go and we'll go there. I'll try to get it announced as soon as I can on the page. Hobbs has been bugging me to go back to McCormick and Schmicks, so if I don't get any negative feedback, that's where we'll be having the next meeting.
Stone Man is feeling better. After a nasty bout with pancriatitus or whatever, he's been seen out and about. He's even taking 2 out on a date tonite, so he must be feeling better. But another of our crowd, Don, is down for the count with some other intestinal disorder. Last I heard he was in ICU, at the VA Hospital of all places. Hmmmm... And poor Sue is hurting. Dunno when we'll see her out.
Anyways, the next meeting is March 11th. See you there.
