STOOGE ANSWER PAGE

Nobody, but Nobody does travel like The Stooge!

question:   I've done a modicum of traveling, and still feel I'm getting ripped off price wise a lot of the time.  I like to stay at a Hotel, and not get charged an arm and a leg.  BUT I have my favorite hotels!  I like certain amenities when I travel, and want to know what I  should check out when I know where it is I want to spend my hard earned dollars?

answer:    Most people go to one of the 'Hotel' websites on the internet.   Sometimes you can find a great rate by doing that, but you are not always guaranteed the best rate!  You could spend hours and hours searching each individual hotel web site and still feel like you've been taken to the cleaners.  Fortunately for you, The Stooge has a better plan.

Download Travelaxe.  What???  WTF is that, you might say.  Trust me, you'll love it.  Here's a little synopsis of what you'll be getting:

Travelaxe is a free (for leisure and business travelers) downloadable Windows program that searches more than 20 different travel websites at the same time for hotel rates in 2735 cities from 60 different countries and lets you compare the prices from each travel website side-by-side, highlighting the cheapest prices found for each hotel. The amount you can save for each hotel is also displayed so you can see the savings! When you find the price you want, Travelaxe takes you right to the booking page at the cheapest travel website to complete your reservation with that website. Using Travelaxe can save you both time and money when looking for a hotel for your next trip!

As you can see, Travelaxe searches quite a few wholesale websites, and if the place you want to go to is within the search parameters of it's database, you stand a much better chance at securing that triple suite on top of the Trump Towers for the cheapest available price, when you want to go.  You'll find the program and a very well laid out web page at www.travelaxe.com/NewSite/Information_Overview.asp

question:   My mom is planning a trip to Las Vegas in June.  I was wondering how to go about finding out about the most reasonable airfare.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks. :)

answer:     As I type, United Airlines ( www.ual.com ) has a $129 round trip from PDX to LAS IF you travel on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday.   This fare is good until June 8, 2004

If you are going to need a room, sometimes it is cheaper to buy a package than just the airfare. I like Southwest's Packages at (iflyswa.com) Usually you will need 2 people to get the cheapest rate, but you can check it out for free.

question:      What can you do about finding me a ticket to Ontario, Canada, Leaving on the morning of May 8th and returning on the evening of May 15?

answer:     Well, any ticket to the Los Angeles area under $200 is a deal.  The best plan that I can come up with is Southwest for a bit under $190.  including taxes.  You will get to see one additional airport before you arrive in Ontario.  Non Stop flights are available, but are over $200 and only ½  the chances that you can get bumped and get a free ticket!

question:    My family and I constantly seem to run out of money towards the end of the month.  We love to get out of the house for a bite to eat.  My husband and I are looking for the best way to save a little cash, yet enjoy the high life.  Can you give us any hints on the best way to escape the homebody routine, yet be able to pack the kids into the soccer van and eat out once in awhile without loosing our credit rating at the end of the month??

answer:    Absolutely!  The best way I know to save a little dough on those nights that you don't feel like slaving for the family feast, is to pack an Entertainment Book.  What's an Entertainment Book?  Simple.  It's a nice purse size triple poker deck width of coupons, designed to allow your family and mine the opportunity to get out of the cracker box and enjoy ourselves.  How does it work?  You simply take The Book along with your family when you decide to go out.  Nearly any restaurant, or for that matter, movie house in town is represented coupon-wise in the Entertainment Book.  You'll find mostly two-fer's in The Book, but you're guaranteed to find you will save way more than the tip, and get that prime rib dinner you deserve at half the cost.  And don't despair!  The Entertainment Book is priced right!  My motto is that you can't go wrong with a coupon, so how right on are you with a few hundred packed into a handy little book like that??  As a matter of fact, The Book is going for only TEN BUCKS with 5$ DELIVERY as we speak, so long as supply holds out!  Certain additions of The Book are a bit more, so get in touch with me for more details.
